Christmas Wrap-Up
Christmas Sponsor Program 2009
Carrie McAllister, Coordinator
Christmas at Boys’ Home is always very exciting and
this season was no exception. The 49th
Annual Boys’ Home Christmas Decorating
Contest was judged again this year by the
Natural Bridge Speedway Auxiliary. The
Wheatley
Center was awarded the
grand prize for overall cottage decorations.
Congratulations to the staff and residents
of the Wheatley Intake and
Evaluation
Center for a splendid job.
Thanks so much to all of our Christmas Sponsors who
gave so generously to ensure that our
residents would have a wonderful Christmas.
I’d like to especially thank all of the
sponsors who visited during the Holiday
Season. Such visits added a great deal of
excitement and enjoyment for the young men.

“Miracle of Love”
When Carl Blacke and a group of young men
volunteered at the October Fall Foliage
Festival in Clifton Forge, they didn’t
expect any recognition. But they
received some anyway. After helping set up the
Linda Patrick art booth, the well-known
Shenandoah Valley
artist donated a print to benefit Boys’
Home.
Now we are offering the print in a raffle
ending March 31. The print entitled “Miracle
of Love” focuses on a collie's love for his
master. The watercolors
capture the mood of the collie to protect and guard
the homeplace as he waits patiently at the
end of the lane for his master’s return.
Shenandoah Framing in Lexington donated the
framing so this raffle is nearly 100%
profit! Call
540/965-7714 for more information.
